Speed is a head-to-head reaction game with no turns — both players play cards onto shared piles as fast as they can.
Each player has a stack of 20 cards and a hand of 5. Two center cards start the play piles.
Play a card one higher or one lower than the top center card onto either pile, refilling your hand from your stack. There are no turns — whoever is fastest plays.
The first player to empty both their hand and stack wins.
It is designed for two. "Spit" is the three-player variant.
Any card one rank higher or one rank lower than the current top card.
