Klondike is the solitaire everyone knows. Build four foundation piles from Ace to King while organizing the tableau by alternating color.
Deal seven tableau columns: one card in the first, two in the second, up to seven — only the top card of each column face-up. The rest is the stock.
Move face-up cards between columns in descending rank and alternating color. Empty columns may be filled with a king. Move aces to the four foundations and build up by suit.
Draw one or three cards at a time from the stock to a waste pile, which you can play from.
You win by moving all 52 cards to the four foundations, ace through king in each suit.
Draw-one reveals one stock card at a time (easier); draw-three reveals three and only the top is playable (harder).
Yes — empty tableau columns can only be filled by a king (or a sequence starting with a king).
