Crazy Eights is a fast shedding game where players match the top card by suit or rank. Eights are wild. The first player to empty their hand wins.
Deal 5–7 cards each (7 for two players, 5 for more). Turn the next card face-up to start the discard pile; the rest is the draw pile.
Match the top card by suit or rank, or play an 8 (wild) and choose the new suit. If you cannot play, draw until you can or the pile empties.
The first player to run out of cards wins the round and scores points from opponents' remaining cards — 50 per 8, 10 per face card, face value otherwise.
Save your eights for when you are stuck. Hold multiple suits so you are never forced to draw.
An 8 is wild — you can play it on anything and declare the suit the next player must follow.
Uno is a commercial version of Crazy Eights with special action cards. The core matching mechanic is identical.
Be the first to play all your cards. In multi-round games, first to 500 points wins.
